Freefall is an exciting exploration of bizarre and everyday fears, human quirks and truths.  Gravity and Other Myths use their extensive skills in circus and physical theatre to showcase the inner workings of seven young characters as they learn to engage with their fears.

“Time and time again we were enthralled…Impressive, clever and very entertaining” - Arts Hub

Freefall delivers a unique audience experience combining traditional circus skills with physical theatre, contemporary movement and spoken word to encourage an honest and personal connection with the performers. To date, every season of Freefall has managed sold-out houses and received critical acclaim. Freefall promotion attracts excellent media and audience interest with spectacular images and footage, overwhelmingly positive audience responses for word-of-mouth promotion, and multiple awards to its name. Over the past two years the company has presented to over 8,000 paying audience members, received four awards and has enjoyed outstanding support from audiences, media and presenters (including international presenter interest).

Freefall premiered in late 2009 as part of the Circus Works Program at Theatre Works (Victoria) and over the following seasons was redeveloped to become the well-detailed production that is now.

In 2010, Freefall was performed in the Adelaide Fringe Festival where it received the ‘2010 Award for Best Circus’ ahead of a strong collection of Australian companies.

In 2011, the company was invited to teach and perform at the National Circus Festival (Tasmania), Freefall was featured in The Brink contemporary circus program at The Judith Wright Centre for Contemporary Arts (Queensland), performed a completely sold-out extended season at the 2011 Adelaide Fringe Festival where they also received the ‘2011 Tour Ready Award’, performed at Her Majesties Theatre as part of the 2011 Come Out Festival and performed the 2011 Melbourne Fringe Festival where they received a standing ovation, the ‘2011 Award for Best Circus’ and a cast member received the individual award for ‘Best Emerging Circus and Physical Theatre Performer’.

"Bloody amazing" - Festival Freak

Through spoken word and the unique physicality of each character, Freefall will transcend the conventional concept of fear to show the deeper complexities and resulting everyday habits that fear evokes in us all defining how we act and who we are.
